Our Staff

The Board of Agapé † Kure Beach Ministries, Inc. is happy to announce our new Interim Executive Director, Lee Lindeman. Lee brings a wealth of experience to this new role, after a career in Lutheran outdoor ministry, including nearly 18 years as Executive Director of Lake Chautauqua Lutheran Center in Bemus Point, NY. Lee will be starting work at Camp Agapé on October 1. Please join us in welcoming him to the area.

Mir has been at Agape since 1996 “playing in the woods with kids” of all ages. Originally from Minnesota, she brings a lot of camp and naturalist experience from MN, WI, and PA. She has a passion for helping guests appreciate the wonders of God’s Creation at Agape and at Kure Beach.

A former Agapé camper and summer staffer, Lucas returns to camp with a wealth of professional experience. His six years of service as the Director of Youth Programs at the YMCA of the Triangle is a great asset to the ministry at Agapé † Kure Beach. His time at Agapé has given Lucas an important grasp on camp tradition while allowing him to keep an open perspective on what changes could lead this ministry to further success in the future.

Kyle has worked at Camp Agapé since 2017, & worked in the Lutheran Camp community since 2010. When he is not cooking inclusive meals for Agapé's many guests, he is listening to music, foraging Camp's 624 acres for mushrooms, or trying to convince staff & friends to join in playing tabletop RPGs.

Nancy grew up in rural upstate New York. She moved to North Carolina in 2016 and got her start at Agapé in 2017 as an ACE Educator. She has since taken on the position of camp Office/Donor Relations Manager. In addition to her office duties, Nancy enjoys occasionally working with school field trips as an ACE Educator.

Penny grew up in western North Carolina and holds a B.A. in Studio Art from UNCG. She got her start at Agapé hiking the woods with kids as an ACE educator. In 2007 she was hired to work in the office as the Capital Campaign Coordinator. Since then she has taken on Agapé's marketing responsibilities.

Jamala is a native of Virginia and holds a B.A. in English from Hampton University and a M.S. Ed. with an emphasis in Sports Management from Old Dominion University. Most of her professional career has been spent in the education and nonprofit sectors.

While Jamala has a knack for organization, planning, and administration; she also loves to help and encourage others to reach their goals.

As Regional Gift Planner for the Carolinas with the ELCA Foundation, Stephanie meets with people to help ensure their Estate and Legacy Plans reflect their wishes for their loved ones and charitable goals. If you'd like to include Agape Kure Beach and/or other ministries or charities in your plan, please just give her a call at 704-293-9436 or email at Stephanie.Burke@elca.org.

All of her gift planning services are made available to individuals without obligation. It is her ministry to be of service.
